gIVING bACK

Why I volunteer

Volunteering has always been a big part of who I am. I believe that we're all interconnected and that the world is a small place. At the end of the day what really matters is people and it has been really amazing to see how people's lives can be changed by simple acts.

Wetland

tree planting

I really enjoy the outdoors, especially the area around my hometown of Roseburg. When they asked if someone could help with a wetlands conservation project, I volunteered. I organized other volunteers, trained them, and helped them plant trees to help restore the city's wetland areas.

Service

abroad

I lived in Managua, Nicaragua for 2 years while on a humanitarian service trip and loved getting know the people there. I trained new volunteers, learned to speak Spanish, and helped with a variety of projects, including sanitation, roofing, and other home improvement projects.

Biking for MS

To help raise money for Multiple Sclerosis research, I cycled in Bike MS's century (100 mile) ride. This ride is Utah's largest cycling fundraising event with 2,500 cyclists riding and raising funds.
